ANNOUNCEMENTS
The O.P.T.A. reserves the right to make
changes without prior notice.
1. No soliciting or selling of merchandise of any kind is allowed
without prior written approval of" the Hamilton Gun Club. No shells are to
be sold on the grounds by anybody other than the H.G.C. Vendors should apply to the Hamilton Gun

2. Trailer spaces and showers available. There arc 36 plus electrical
hook-ups (reservations only).

3. This certifies that the O.P.T.A. has been authorized to hold a
registered championship contest at the Hamilton Gun Club, Vinemount, Ontario
on July 31, August 1st & 2nd, 2010. The Amateur Trapshooting Association
rules will govern this shoot and the scores will be recorded in the official
records.

GENERAL INFORMATION
A.T.A. rules will govern this shoot and decisions will be based
accordingly. Your A.T.A. card must be up-to-date. Presentation of an erroneous
or incorrect card can result in total disqualification. Known ability, previous
and current averages will determine class.
TARGET REQUIREMENTS MUST BE MET PRIOR TO THE FIRST DAY OFTHIS SHOOT
(July 31,2010)
1. Qualifications will be 1000 16-yard targets for the previous year and/or
the current, or the entrant will shoot penalty class 'A' or higher. The penalty
class for ladies, juniors and sub-juniors, vet & senior vet who do not have
the target requirements will be class "B" or higher.
2. Assigned yardage applies during this tournament. Shooters not meeting
target requirements will be assigned penalty yardage or their handicap card
yardage, whichever is greater. Target requirements are at least a total of 1000
handicap targets in the current and previous year. Penalty yardage for junior
and adult males of 23.0 yards, penalty yardage or ladies, sub-juniors, veterans
and senior veterans who do not meet the target requirements shall be 20.0
yards, or higher.
Known ability may also be applied by the handicap committee. Veterans and
senior veterans not meeting target requirements may shoot for targets only, at
assigned yardage.
3. Qualifications for doubles will be 700 targets for the previous year
and/or current year, otherwise the entrants will be placed in penalty class
"B" or higher.
4. All ladies, juniors and sub-juniors, veterans and senior veterans
must declare their special category AT THE TIME OF THEIR ENTRY in any
registered event. Without such declaration AT THE TIME OF THEIR ENTRY, the shooter
will not be allowed to compete for the applicable special-category trophies. No
exceptions to this rule will be allowed. Resident Sub-junior and Junior
shooters shooting for targets only (no options) will be eligible to shoot the
400 championship targets only for free. These shooters are eligible for
trophies, but added money is not offered to sub-juniors and Juniors, except for
champions in events 4,5,6.
5. All scores for monies and trophies become Final I5 minutes after last
score for event is posted.
6. Only A.T.A, regulation trap loads may he used.
7. All empty hulls on the ground become the property of the host club.
8. Fluorescent orange dome targets will be used on all events. White
targets may be used in shoot-offs.
9. No shooter will be eligible to win more than one trophy in any one
event with the exception of the following trophies in event #6. New Shooter
trophy, the Two Man Team trophy. All trophies must be picked up at the shoot -
no trophies will be shipped.
10. An Ontario Class winner MUST take the closed trophy in preference to
the open trophy. ATA trophies take preference over open trophies.
11.Awarding of trophies in order, Champion/Runner-Up, Category, Class/Yardage Champions. Any shooter who is
tied for event champion may shot-off/carry over for the championship trophy. If
a shooter fails in the championship trophy shoot-off/carryover and has declared
a special category at the time of classification, the shooter can fall back to
the declared special category. Any
shooter who has declared a special category at the time of classification and
whose score qualifies for any trophy in his/her declared category, will compete
for the category trophy and not for place, class or yardage group. Any special
category shooter whose score does not qualify for a trophy in his/her category,
may compete for place, class or yardage group trophies. Once any declaration
has been made either by a shooter or shoot management the declaration is final
and cannot be changed. There shall be no exception to this rule.
12. The Shoot Committee reserves the right to reject, and/or disqualify
any persons who, in their judgment, interferes with the harmony of the shoot or
violates A.T.A, rules and regulations.
13. The Shoot Committee insists on safe gun handling at all times on the
grounds. No closed actions are allowed excepting in the gun rack or on the
firing line.
14. Muzzle devices or guns which eject hulls in a manner which distracts
other squad members arc not permitted.
15. Entering and classification: Each shooter must first present his
current O.P.T.A. and A.T.A, cards to the classification and handicap committee
for class, yardage and eligibility for trophies, then obtain entry cards,
have it impressed with the correct name and address. You must check off
all categories you intend to enter. No entries will be taken until this has
been completed - Failure to do so will result in shooter disqualification.
Classification slips will be required before entry is accepted.
16. The Shoot Committee reserves the right to make any changes in the
program due to unforeseen circumstances,
17. Shoot-offs will be for trophies, honour and place- Handicap and
16-yard will be shot off in the events of 25, doubles at 10 pair. AII-Around
20-10-05 pair. High Over All at 25-15-05 pair and on the same day the race is
completed- 16-yard ties will be determined by carry- over the next day or days.
Shooters who fail to answer a shoot-off call forfeit all rights. Handicap and
doubles ties shoot-off after the days event, or at the discretion of the Shoot
Committee.
18. Only one A.T.A. trophy shall be awarded to any person in a separate
event. A special category shooter may only fall I back to category after an unsuccessful
shoot-off for champion or runner up. A shooter must choose which trophy they
will take or shoot-off for. A shooter cannot win both an A.T.A. special
category trophy and another championship A.T.A. trophy in the same event.
Special awards that are not specific A.T.A. trophies mentioned above shall be
exempt from this rule,
19. Shooters missing their squad, or re-squadding, will be subject to
late entry fee ot'$10.00. All events starting times will be strictly
enforced.
20.Handicap shoot out after handicap championship, event # 5. All
shooters entering this option will be entitled to compete if their score ends
with the number drawn. The shooter will start and shoot on their classified
yardage, then proceed to the next station if target broken. This will be a miss
and out shoot out. The winner is guaranteed to receive $ 500.00.
21.Starting traps forevents will be designatedfor each day, starting
traps for each days events will be posted the night before. A shooter will no
longer be able to draw a squad by bank number.
NOTE: All shooters with scores equalling those of champion, and the
respective class winners in any 16- yard event or any 100-target doubles event,
or earn yardage in any handicap event, must report to classification and have
their yardage or classification changed. Classification for the H.O.A. (700
targets), will be based on initial classification. All-Around (400 targets)
will be based on 16-yard classification at the start of event #6.
NOTE: Added money* will be awarded with the trophy ties do not divide. A
shooter may only win one added money per event. *(When Offered)
Sub-Juniors and Juniors
shooting for targets only(OPTA paid Target fees) and meeting target
requirements will be awarded added
money for Champion and Runner-up in Events 4 5 6.
